課程概述 |
This second course continues to train students to (1) develop a variety of reading and writing skills and strategies; (2) cultivate students’ ability to read and write critically and analytically; (3) develop students’ ability in essay genre writing (Units 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12). In order for students to transition to English Composition II, essay writing will therefore be introduced. |

By the end of the semester, students will be able to (1) compose essay writing in different genres; (2) write and share with others on a restricted range of topics and short tasks; and (3) understand parts of an academic essay. |

Students need to come to class on weekly basis. Good learning attitudes mainly include arriving classes on time and engage actively in various activities. |

Writing assignments |

Throughout the semester, students will write three out of five essay genre writing assignments. |

In-class activities |
20% |
Students will practice writing-related activities in the textbook for class sessions. As with last semester's practice, keep a notebook in digital or paper forms, to keep track of your writing exercises. |

Midterm and Final Writing assessment |
30% |
Students will complete one Midterm and one Final writing exercise as formal evaluation. |
